
Just like you, I have a story. For the past 7 years I’ve been trying to figure out this whole being a woman thing. It’s like we’re never taught how to thrive as a woman and instead we are taught about the pain our periods cause us, how unpredictable our hormones are and that the only solution is birth control. We go on restrictive diets, intense workout plans, and model our life like a man to get by.
For me it started with a few rogue chin hairs, raging cystic acne and irregular periods which I was then given a PCOS diagnosis, put on multiple medications and of course the birth control pill. I spent so many years searching for answers in the wrong places, attaching my health to the weight on the scales, restrictive dieting, googling my symptoms, going back and fourth with doctors. I always felt like there was something wrong with me, an endless list of symptoms, if it wasn’t my skin, it was my mental health or struggling to sleep. I always felt like there was always something to fix. I soon realised that my body didnt actually need fixing. I wasn’t broken and with the right changes my body actually had the power to heal naturally.
At the start, natural healing sounded all a bit woo woo and hippie but it is has been a journey that has transformed my life in so many ways. Using nutrition and lifestyle, it has shown me that with the right tools our bodies are capable of healing themselves and have since been on a journey to redefine what it means to thrive as a women.
